Klangzeitort: this is the name of the Institute for New Music of the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music and the Berlin University of the Arts. Newly founded in 2003, it is now managed by the composers Daniel Ott and Wolfgang Heiniger and Irene Kletschke.
As a creative intersection of both universities, Klangzeitort has made its task to integrate new music into the course of studies. There is no competition here, cooperation is what counts. Musicians and composers are directly networked with each other and can thus bring ideas to the stage. Project names like Querklang, Soap-Opera, Zoom-Focus and Mehrlicht! Music shows that interdisciplinarity and multimedia are at the center of attention.
